The Taranaki Steelformers Airs are excited to announce Cole Brown as the club’s new
general manager.

Born and bred in Taranaki, Brown brings a wealth of experience to the role having spent the
a number of years as the Operations Manager at Taranaki Rugby, helping the organisation
navigate its way through a challenging pandemic period.

A self-confessed basketball fan, Brown is both excited and optimistic about the opportunity

“It’s an honour to join the club at such an exciting period in its history. The club is poised
and ready to build on the successes of past seasons and continue to inspire the community.

The NBL is growing and thanks to strong commercial and community partnerships we will
deliver quality programs and meaningful experiences for our fans”

Airs Chairman, Laine Hopkinson was delighted with the appointment.

“To be able to secure someone with Cole’s experience really is quite a coup for the club.
We’re excited for this next chapter and believe Cole will bring the right skill-set to build on
the momentum the club has created over the past 18 months”, said Hopkinson.

“Our goal is to ensure the club is sustainable moving forward. The growth of the sport isn’t
slowing down - people want to play basketball and they want to consume basketball as
spectators. We want to be the aspirational pathway for our tamariki and rangatahi across
the wider Taranaki community”.

The club’s attention now turns to assembling a competitive 2023 roster, with Brown set to
work closely with the coaching team, as the Airs look to go one better after last season’s
historic run.

Brown will officially start in his new role on 1 October.
